About Me

I am a freelance writer and editor. I also teach creative writing classes as an instructor with the Society of Young Inklings and tutor middle school students at Eastside College Prep.

I have worked at Seventeen Magazine and as a children’s book editor at Doubleday & Co. and Cloverdale Press.

My published works include two mystery novels in a series for young teens. These books were written under the pen name Adam Mills and are no longer in print. In addition, I write for Appleseeds, a children's social studies magazine, and the SCBWI Bulletin.

A mother of four, I have a B.A. in English from Middlebury College and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
